One of my former students just finished a 30-day blog challenge. For 30-days you write a blog post - which requires not only finding thirty things to write about but also remembering to do it. Given that I'm a little bit older, and bit more blonde, the later may be harder than the former. But... here it goes - Day 1 of 30. Let the Geeky-ness begin
Being that I'm a Virgo, the first thing I'm going to do is get my planning hat and figure out what I'm going to talk about for 30 days in a row, because when creating content for on-line - PLANNING HELPS!
Now, just because there is a plan doesn't mean I won't deviate from it. I'm to much like the pups in Up - SQUIRREL! - and I'm off running on a new topic, a new path and eventually I'll weave it around to the first. Plans are what save you when you can't be on-the-spot brilliant.
Next I need...
TOPICS
And, let's be honest - I'm probably going to talk about Social Media, because I do it a lot and I teach it and I'm wanting to do more content creation for myself and others. I also love my pets and I'm sure they will be the focus of a post or two. And then there is marriage - which, also honestly, I'm still trying to figure out. It's what happens when you wait until you are 41 to get married. I'm also a gamer-girl so be prepared for me to get my geek-on about gaming and some of my favorite time-wasters/de-stressers.
Day one - DONE! Now to go get a plan and brainstorm some topics...unless, of course, my fur-babies need some snuggles first.

Hi Tyra, I am reading through your first five days to gather some insight and inspiration. I saw blogspot's 30 day challenge which peaked my interest in the beginning of the year. Your Day 1 of 30 gives me a "Just Do It!" motivation. You make it seem so simple - sharing via a blog can be fun and entertaining to your readers. The varying topics certainly cover a broad audience. It is a pleasure to be able to continue to learn from my favorite professor at KSU. I look forward to following the story on The Geeky Side.
ReplyDeleteYou are too kind! I have wanted to get The Geeky Side started for a while (eventually there will be a podcast and probably some YouTube videos incorporated - and a website...need to get the hubby on learning webpress). I'm having students write blogs in my Social Media Class now - and I figure I might as well have one I can show them. Best tool so far - the $1 calendar I bought from Walmart, to be highlighted in a future post. Take care - and I miss you!
